Situated in the historic city of Lincoln, the Lincoln School of Media offers courses designed to prepare students for eventual employment in the media industries. Courses of study at undergraduate and postgraduate level aim to allow students to develop the creative, critical, analytical, technical and organisational skills required to become reflexive media professionals.
On the BA Media Production programme, after a broad introduction to a variety of media, (e.g. radio, single or multi-camera production, script-writing, design, photography and new media) students choose specialisms which they advance at levels two and three. Throughout the programme of study, they also analyse and critique media texts and examine the issues and debates surrounding media ownership and control, media policy and media technologies.
The MA Media Production aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of media in a historical and theoretical context, focusing on a specialist area from: radio, single or multi-camera production, script-writing, design, photography and new media.
The School is supported by the Media Broadcast Production Centre, a purpose-built digitally integrated production environment which includes two television studios, four radio studios, thirteen video editing suites, seven audio edit suites, two digital imaging suites and two multimedia suites
